Matilda is a one-of-a-kind genius with a wonderful teacher, horrible parents, and a violent principal. Matilda has special powers. Will she get rid of her principal? I love the author's voice and the perseverance that Matilda shows. (KS)

Matilda is a small girl in a small English village. She has idiot parents. But in the end, she gets rid of the Trunchbull for her and her amazing teacher, Miss Honey. I like this book because of the author's voice. He really made it reach to me. I also like this book because it has amazing description. I recommend this book to you because it is amazingly detailed and has amazing description. (DN)

Matilda is a very talented little girl because she could read adult books by the age of five, and she had an adult's vocabulary when she was only one and a half. When she first goes to school, Ms. Honey, her teacher, discovers her brilliancy and then asks the principal, Ms. Trunchbull, to move her into the highest grade. Matilda, then, discovers that the Trunchbull is very mean and then tries to get back at her for hurting many of the students. I enjoyed reading this book because it's very exciting, and it makes you want to keep reading to see what happens next. I also liked the way that Roald Dahl made Matilda smart and then let her get revenge on the Trunchbull. (FD)

Matilda is a child who taught herself how to talk like an adult when she was three. This special gift of hers helps herself and her teacher, Ms. Honey in extraordinary ways. I liked this book because it had a very good story line. Also, I liked it because the author had a good voice. I would recommend this book to anyone. (TN)

Matilda taught herself to read when whe was only four! Her parents are mean. I like Matilda because it was about a five-year-old girl who taught herself to talk like a grown up. She also taught herself to read. When she was in school, she was able to move things with her eyes.
Matilda is a great character. I felt like anything was possible when I read this book. (SJ)
